Our community includes friends, volunteers, donors and supporters who come together to make college a reality for our scholars. Be a part of making a powerful difference in the lives of our scholars. Join the PWFC community today!

Your contributions enable PWFC to prepare Chicago’s underserved high school students to be successful in college.

Our events provide an opportunity to meet other supporters,  learn more about our impact, and raise funds to support our College Ready and College Success programs.

Our dedicated volunteers ensure PWFC scholars develop the academic and social skills necessary to succeed in college. We offer several opportunities for helping PWFC scholars realize their potential to earn a bachelor’s degree and achieve their dream of being the first in their family to graduate from college.

PWFC volunteer opportunities include:

  • Mentor
PWFC mentors are the key to our scholars’ persistence. From college applications through college graduation, mentors provide one-on-one support and guidance to a PWFC scholar.
  • Junior Board Member
The PWFC Junior Board is a dynamic group of young professionals who are dedicated to volunteering their time, talents, and energy to raise critical funds for PWFC scholars. Each member of the Junior Board is an ambassador to the community and works to support the mission of PWFC.
  • Tutor
Academic enrichment ensures all scholars are prepared for the rigors of college coursework. Tutors provide support to individual students or small groups in math, science, English, writing, and reading.
  • Career Success Coach
PWFC scholars are still exploring the career options that align with their interests. Volunteers can spend an afternoon on a professional panel talking with a cohort of students, or host a job-shadow day to help students explore careers in their fields of interest.
