Claire is a senior at Lake Forest College studying Sociology & Anthropology and American Politics. She is with us this summer as the Development and Communications Intern. At school, Claire is a tutor at the Writing Center, so she is able to share her passion for writing with her peers. Over the course of her years in school, Claire has had the chance to analyze historical cases of education inequality and study cultural understandings of education, so she is interested in learning about Chicago’s education process through Pass With Flying Colors.
She is excited to learn more about nonprofits and the fundraising process. In addition, she hopes to become more familiar with all that Pass With Flying Colors does for their scholars. Claire might have a future in advocacy and nonprofits, so she is looking forward to gaining experience at Pass With Flying Colors this summer to help her in her career search.

WHAT I WISH I KNEW MY FIRST YEAR
I wish I knew that is was perfectly fine to take courses out of interest to explore different subjects. I sometimes felt penned in by career paths and the pressure to declare a major. However, looking back now, I realize that there is plenty opportunity to take time to branch out during your first year before getting enveloped with the course requirements for your eventual major.
FAVORITE PLACE ON CAMPUS
It’s not exactly *on campus*, but I enjoy taking the 10-minute walk to Lake Michigan and reading a few chapters of a good book while relaxing on the beach. It’s a nice escape from the bustle of campus.
